There are a few basic things we’d like to know about you when you apply, to better enable us to consider your potential membership. We do not want to make a template out of this, as we’d like your app to have full sentences. Not to look at your English skills (unless they are exceptionally bad), but to better get an impression of you.
First of all, we request that you include your main character name in the title of your post. This makes it easier for us to find your application if we forgot something or want to read it again. It would also be nice if you put your class on the label. If you have several characters and are happy to play either as your main, just use the name of the one that you play most at the moment, and tell us about the rest later.
Your app should of course include basic information about your character(s), like class and talent build. It would also be nice if you let us know whether you’d like to raid with us or be a social member for dungeons and laughs, although we will not be likely to have a defined raid force separated from socials. It is just to get an idea of our raiding numbers.
We will not be very interested in your item level. If you want to raid, but don’t have the gear, a lot can be done with some heroic guild runs, which we very much enjoy. We even like normal runs, for laughs and to help guildies gear up. We do, however, expect you to do your best to get raid-ready if you’d like to come along.
Also, we would love to hear a little about what you’ve done in WoW so far. Not necessarily which bosses you’ve pwned, but where you’ve been, so to speak. If you’ve been raiding a lot or a little, or none at all. If you’re big on heroics or have mostly done solo stuff. If you’re a roleplayer, a PvP addict or a big achievement hunter. And so on.. It’s not a big deal, but you want something to fill your app with, right?
What is most important to us is the person at your keyboard. Thus you should say a bit about yourself, real-life-wise. There is no need to give us details you would rather keep to yourself though, we are not the inquisition. This part is very much up to you, all we want is an impression of your maturity and social skills.
Besides this your app can contain whatever you want to tell us really. We are grumpy, but friendly when you’re on our good side. And if you are, you might just be the guildie we are looking for, so go for it!
OSG is currently gearing up a new class of 2011 and are not raiding at the moment. We are running heroics and getting people into the "Zul" runs. If you want to be raiding soon this guild may not be appropriate at this time.
